AAA Gold Exchange: Now There’s a Businessman!

There’s nothing I like better than when a client teaches me a thing or two about doing business. Imagine how much I loved learning from my new client and friend Parviz Firouzgar at the AAA Gold Exchange one rainy Friday evening…

Parviz called late on Friday, seeking a new company to host his website www.aaagoldexchange.com. When I took the call, I mentioned I’d been meaning to exchange my old gold jewelry for cash, but had never gotten around to it. The consummate business owner, Parviz said, “bring your hosting contract and your old jewelry in tomorrow – I’ll sign your contract and give you a quote for your gold.”

Ahhh, how can you tempt a sales professional like myself more? The promise of a new client and cash in my pocket all from one visit? There’s a guy who knows how to read his audience! So, up I went, Saturday morning…rain coming down in buckets on my windshield…my GoldenComm hosting contract in one hand, gold jewelry in the other (and quote for the gold from a local jeweler in my back pocket!)

As I sat down to chat with Parviz, he proudly showed me an adorable photo of his baby boy and related to me stories of his family and his lifelong fascination with gold….starting from the time he was a child, sneaking jewelry from his sister’s jewelry box. It was obvious to me how his cash for gold business was the perfect business for him and a wonderful way to provide for his lovely family.

He pulled out his scale and some fancy contraptions I can’t say I fully understand to test the quality of my jewelry. While I waited, he and his kind colleague offered to polish up my diamond engagement ring in their ultrasonic cleaner. This was the red carpet service to say the least!

Did he beat my other quote for my gold jewelry? You bet! I walked out of there with $380 in cash for a bunch of old chains collecting dust on the bottom of my jewelry box!

Did he sign our hosting agreement? You bet he did that, too.

And did my engagement ring look 1000% better than when I walked in that morning? Yes, yet again!

That’s a win-win-win as far as I’m concerned, folks! This is a man who did everything right:
- He saw an opportunity for us to help each other out and he asked for my business when I asked for his.
- He let me see how important I – as a potential client and vendor – am to him as a person and small business owner.
- He treated me like GOLD – something he knows lots about.
- He asked me to refer my friends to him – no shame in that request- and a 10% referral kickback to me (and all his customers) for doing so! You can bet I’ll do my best to refer my friends and colleagues to this fine family man!
- He gave me his business in return, and on we go from here. He is our newest happy client with more website projects on the table for us to tackle together going forward.

I couldn’t help but blog about my experience….lots we can all learn from Parviz…how lucky am I to have answered the phone that Friday night?
